The HBBS 410 and those who made it possible:
Hoening Big Bore Slug LLC has spent the last ten years developing the HBBS 410 ga. fully rifled slug barrel. I’m confident the HBBS 410 ga. Is the finest 410 slug barrel on the market today. Every detail has been designed to give the reloader maximum power and accuracy.
I took a completely different approach on loading this ammo. It is loaded like any other precision loads that you would make up for your favorite hunting or target rifle. This system allows you to control every important detail to create the perfect load for your barrel. This is something up until now that was not available to the reloader when loading shotgun slug ammo.
These new barrels and loads are extremely accurate and powerful, you will never look at the 410 ga. as being too small or not powerful enough again. The heavy load has approximately 1500 fps velocity and shoots a 375 gr. slug. That is real big bore power. Compare it to the 45/70 and big handgun cartridges and you will see for yourself, the HBBS 410 ga. cranks out a lot of power and I can tell you from experience it takes out whitetail deer in a spectacular fashion.
Now lets talk about the slug design. This slug is a creation of Veral Smith’s and is cast from one of his LBT moulds and the 15 bhn slug is cast by Montana Bullet works. These two companies deserve a lot of credit on the performance of the HBBS 410 ga. I can tell you no other bullets perform in the HBBS like these do, you just can not get better quality moulds or bullets anywhere.
The barrels are made by Match Grade Machine. They specialize in building custom Thompson Center Contender, Encore, and G2 barrels. They are dedicated to building the highest quality, most accurate barrels on the market today. They have a lot of high quality products for all you TC fans.
Dave Manson of Dave Manson Precision Reamers made the great chamber reamers. An important contribution to the overall accuracy that should not be overlooked. If you need precision tooling for the improvement of your firearms his company is the place to get them.
Forster Products put together this great hull trimmer; I believe it is the only trimmer on the market made to trim these 410 hulls. Its a must have item when loading the HBBS 410. They are also working on a hollow point tool for the HBBS Slug. I will be selling that soon.
Lee Precision made the hull sizer, and the bullet seater. The bullet seater is a 444 marlin seater and does a great job seating the HBBS slugs. You just can not beat Lee Precision on Quality and affordability.
The 410 hulls are from Ballistic Products Inc. These hulls are a great value and a very durable product. That’s why I chose them for the HBBS 410. Ballistic Products Inc. has many good products for reloaders, be sure to check them out.
Hoening Big Bore South L.L.C. is run by my brother Jim Hoening, and his wife Cheryl. They will be running the Internet sales of HBBS products. Hopefully these will be available in the next several months.

I’m doing all that I can to get an inventory built up, all these products are custom made so if we run out, there will be some delays filling back orders.
